Successful Summer for Dungiven YFC

A competitive team from Dungiven YFC comprising of Daniel Buchanan, William Sleeman, Jonathan Smyth and Laura Smyth travelled to Omagh Show in early July to take part in the YFCU Northern Ireland Finals of the Build It competition.

The team had one and a half hours to build a see-saw from a selection of wood provided. It turned out to be a successful day for the team as they were placed second.

The NI finals of this season’s stock-judgings and silage assessment took place at the Greenmount Campus, Antrim. Dungiven YFC members were placed as follows: Dairy: 3rd 12-14, John Sleeman and 6th 16-18 Matthew Gault. Sheep: 3rd 12-14 Lauren McFarlane and 1st 18-21 James Purcell. Silage: 5th 12-14 Chloe Miller; 2nd 14-16 Laura Fulton and 4th 21-25 Laura Smith.

Co. Londonderry Agricultural Show saw the most recent success for the club. Daniel Buchanan, Mark Connell and William Sleeman proudly represented the club in the Fencing Competition held by City of Derry YFC and won the novice section.

Dungiven YFC are also holding a night with Ritchie Remo on Thursday 22 August 2013 at Limavady Football Club.
