Support for PIPS Larne ‘very much appreciated’

Pips Larne would like to thank Mark Aiken, who ran the Belfast marathon and raised £330.50 for us, also to Nat Glenn and the Larne Athletics Club, who donated £350 proceeds from a raffle.

We would like to ask others who have received sponsorship monies in the name of PIPS Larne, both at the marathon and a charity walk last November, to forward the money to us as soon as possible.

Also at this time we are in the process of organising further training in the Moyle area. There will be two different sections for this: one will be Mind your Mate training aimed at 16 - 24-year-olds and whilst it is a fun-based course lasting approximately three hours, it aims to give participants the ability to save a friend from suicide.

The second is community-based training which can carry an OCN accreditation if wanted. This is a day-long course based on the reality that anyone within our community, our workplace, our social network or our family could be at risk of suicide and aims to give participants the ability to spot the signs and be confident in knowing how to deal with it.

If anyone would like to take part in either or both of these course please contact PIPS Larne on 07530797716 from Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. All training is free of charge and refreshments will be supplied.
