The tea party, one of many to be held across Northern Ireland, will form part of the annual Jazz and Blues Festival and has been organised by the Roe Valley Fundraising Group. The funds raised from this and other ‘Blooming Great Tea Parties’ will help Marie Curie nurses to provide more free care to people with terminal illnesses in their own homes. The tea party will take place from 12 noon until 4pm and will be a fun filled, family day out and including a magic show, balloon modelling, face painting as well as live music from the Limavady Big Band. Lucille Brolly said: “We are really looking forward to holding our Blooming Great Tea Party on Saturday, June 8 as part of the Jazz and Blues Festival and we’re calling on everyone in the community to host their own tea party to help raise funds for Marie Curie this summer. It can be anything from a small gathering of friends or colleagues for a cup of tea and a slice of cake to a big summer garden party. By taking part you will be helping to raise crucial funds to care for terminally ill people.”
