Thanks from Old Guard

AS Chairman of the Hillsborough Old Guard, I would like to thank those who helped us in any way during our street party for the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on April 29.

Firstly, could I express my sincere appreciation to the Kilwarlin and Dunbeg Residents’ Association and Hillsborough Working Together for coming on board as co-organisers of the event. Without their help it just would not have happened.

Secondly, thanks also go out to Lisburn City Council and all those local business traders and members of the public who helped financially to fund the party.

We are indebted to the NIO for the use of the Square in front of Hillsborough Castle, the DOE for the use of the Market House, Hillsborough Presbyterian Church and LOL 288 for use of their chairs, the staff of Hillsborough Castle and the PSNI for their presence at the event.

We were pleased that the Secretary of State, Owen Patterson MP, was able to join with us in celebrating this event. Our thanks to all the children and adults who came along and made this a truly memorable day for everyone.

Finally, I would like to pay tribute to the hard work of the members of the Old Guard.
