Thanks to Dr Paisley: Reader

SIR - I am writing to express my thanks and gratitude to Dr. Paisley for some 40 years of representation for the people of North Antrim. I am old enough to remember how this constituency was represented prior to 1970 – landed gentry in Big House Unionism took this constituency for granted and we were ignored between elections.

Dr. Paisley changed all that. He worked hard for the people of this constituency down through four decades in the House of Commons. I want to place on record my thanks to him. We are now looking to the future in North Antrim and as Dr. Paisley steps down, I believe that Ian Paisley Junior is ideally placed to carry on the good work started all those years ago by Dr. Paisley. He, like his father has worked very hard for this constituency.
