The train should take the strain to the Maze

I read with interest the articles about the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society plans to relocate the largest agricultural show in Northern Ireland, the Balmoral Show, from the King’s Hall to the former Maze Prison near Lisburn.

Perhaps I have missed this in the media but I have yet to see or hear any reference to the enormous problem of how the hundreds of people will travel to this new location who like myself, used to commute to the show by train and were able to alight at Balmoral Train Station.

Each of these trains was packed to well over capacity with some of them almost completely filled by the time they reached Lisburn Station.

There is no train station anywhere near the proposed Maze Prison site and if shuttle buses are to be laid on from Lisburn station, has anyone thought what the already over congested Longstone Street area will be like with these shuttle buses and other extra buses operating in addition to the extra traffic? - it will be chaos.

The facility of being able to commute by train made this a ‘hassle free’ great family day out - my advice is to ensure that a train station is built at the Maze before the show relocates to this site – in short, ‘no station - no move’.
