Thieves make off with oak planters

The theft of two plant-filled oak barrels - once a colourful decorative feature in Ballyeaston village - has left local residents bitterly disappointed.

The wooden planters, filled with flowers and bulbs for next spring, are thought to have been stolen sometime on Friday, November 14.

Leigh Henderson, a member of Ballyeaston Village Residents’ Committee, said the barrels and plants had been paid for by villagers through fundraising initiatives.

“It’s just so disappointing and soul destroying when this sort of thing happens,” she commented.
