‘Traffic calming is needed on Ballynure Road’

A Ballyclare PUP representative has called for traffic calming measures to be installed on the Ballynure Road.

Scott McDowell, who is standing as a candidate in May’s local government election, says there has been an increase in traffic on the road since the Post Office moved into its new premises at Watts Garage.

Requesting that Roads Service look at the issue as a matter of priority, he commented: “Traffic calming needs to be implemented sooner rather than later.

Traffic lights would make crossing the road safer for everyone who uses Watts Garage and the Post Office. Introducing zebra crossings would reduce the speed of the traffic without introducing humps that are too sharp for buses, fire engines and ambulances.”
