Travel stores say a big ‘thank-you’ to Carrick

Staff at the 23 Thomas Cook and Co-operative Travel stores across Northern Ireland would like to say a big ‘thank-you’ to customers after a Christmas charity campaign raised an incredible £164,000 worth of toys for disadvantaged children across the province.

Organised by Downtown Radio and Cool FM, ‘Cash for Kids Mission Christmas’ asked members of the public to buy an extra gift to donate local children who would have otherwise received nothing.

Local businesses, schools and community groups across the country, including all Thomas Cook and Co-operative Travel stores in Northern Ireland, acted as drop-off points for donations from customers in the run up to Christmas Day.

The combined efforts of all involved resulted in 4,930 children receiving a gift to open on Christmas morning, marking the campaign’s most successful year to date.
