Unionist shrine stance ‘utter hypocrisy’

THE Ulster Star ‘Our View’ comment (21/10/2011) was indeed very apt and all right thinking people irrespective of what particular sport they would support would agree.

However, while certain NI fans did insist it was Belfast or nowhere, the reality was down, pure and simple, to the refusal of certain politicians from all hues of Unionism, especially in Belfast, to deliver the National Stadium that would have showcased the sporting excellence of future generations.

In fact they did sport a great disservice to be honest, as backward somersaults go, those Unionists whose stance on the Maze was ‘No Shrine to Terror therefore no stadium’ will prove to have been utter hypocrisy.

The shrine monument they said they would never accept will arrive no doubt dressed up in another guise.

The real question is who is continually having rings run around them?
