I AM a docent at a small mansion museum called Rockwood in Wilmington, Delaware, USA.
Over the years, I have been researching the families that lived here, so as to better enable us to tell Rockwood’s story.
Elizabeth (known as Bessie) Bringhurst married John Galt Smith (a widower with two young children, Kennedy and Florence) in 1886 and moved to Northern Ireland to live part of the year at his estates Meadowbank and, then later, at Kilwaughter Castle in Larne, County Antrim.

Hide AdIn late December 1910, Mrs Galt Smith gave a Christmas party for the neighbourhood children and their mothers. An account of this party was written up in your newspaper. I do not have the exact date this article was published.
