SIR - The team at vision4kids would like to thank the people of Ballymena for their generous giving on Saturday, June 2 during the charity’s street collection. In total £782.32 was raised by the people of the town and those visitors from further afield.

Once again we are overwhelmed by the generous giving from the people of Ballymena who willingly donate even in times of economic gloom. Vision4kids support education, health and poverty relief projects in Northern Ireland, Kenya, Nepal, Zambia and Poland, and over the past year have raised over £16,000 to help those children who are in need. We would like to expend our thanks to all those who have donated.

Please visit www.vision4kids.org if you would like more details on vision4kids and the work they are involved with. The money raised in Ballymena will go towards supporting the work of vision4kids in Kenya; to help with a food, medicine and clothing programme for a group of orphans and other various projects; for example, a new water tank purchased for a school in Kiambururu to supply the children with fresh drinking water
