Was anxiety necessary?

BEFORE Christmas schools were warned they would almost certainly have to make some staff redundant because of swingeing cuts to their budgets over the next three years.

Then last week the Executive found enough money to reduce nearly all of this pain.

Before causing so much anxiety could no-one have looked more closely at the situation and prevented the dire warnings which have now proved unfounded?

Like the little boy who cried wolf, when there is a really serious situation facing our politicians will anyone listen?
