We need you to keep local shops alive

It does not matter if its a bakery, a hardware store, a butcher, or a boutique like mine. No matter what the independent is offering we need your support.

I understand times are hard and we all worry, but seeing some of the long standing businesses having to close their doors is heartbreaking and, to be honest, scary.

Everyone I talk to is worried. I am not knocking the multiple retailers but they cannot offer you what we small independents can. They can’t give you personal service, they can’t give you that one on one attention, they don’t give you something that is different and they don’t give you that warm friendly smile and look of recognition that small retailers can give you.

I myself have changed my grocery shopping to my local independent retailers and have actually saved money. My grocery weekly shop has been cut by at least £30 a week. The quality I am getting now is far superior to a well known multi national chain store I had used before.

My local shops know me by name and I get that lovely warm welcome when I walk in. You can’t pay for that service it will keep me going back, as well as the money saved.

Support your independents everyone. I am not ashamed to say it for all of us...WE NEED YOU!
