Why no torch?

I was going to write to the Lurgan Mail because of the state of the Traffic in the ‘New Lurgan Town Centre and the nightmare that it is to drive through Lurgan’.

But then I made good use of the glorious weather and took my grandchildren to Lurgan Park and was aghast at the pathetic state of the play area for children, paint flaking off most of the attractions and the remaining ones damaged and seemingly nobody doing anything to repair them.

Then I heard about the ‘Olympic Torch’. Can anyone explain to me why the torch went through Portadown and the one horse town that is Gilford but not through Lurgan.

Yet again Lurgan is left floundering with nobody fighting our corner. sad, so very sad.
