Orange Reformation meeting

THE Orange Reformation is encouraging Orangemen to make their views known in Limavady before another Special Grand Lodge meeting.

With a special Grand Lodge meeting called for Saturday 6th March 2010 in Tamnamore Orange Hall, Orange Reformation are encouraging Orangemen to make their feelings known regarding the parades situation.

A statement said: “As we have been stating, the Orange Institution ought to stand for what is right. Brethren, it is not right to be compromising to Sinn Fein/ IRA.

“Orange Reformation is worried that many brethren will walk away from the Order should Grand Lodge accept the Hillsborough deal. It is wrong and the Orange Order should have the courage to say it is wrong!

“At our meeting in Omagh on Tuesday night, brethren made their feelings known on this issue and were determined in their assertions that the Orange Institution should reject the Hillsborough deal and the 'Londonderry Parading model'.

“Orange Reformation believe the 'Londonderry model' to be deceptive and dangerous and urge brethren to reject it!

“Orange Reformation urges all concerned Orangemen, and members of the Orange Family, to contact Schomberg House and make your feelings known...

“We too want the Parades Commission abolished but not at any price and certainly not the price of replacing it with something worse.

“Orange Reformation has consistently argued that there is a move to weaken the Protestant basis of the Orange Institution.”

It said accepting a deal would mean having to “grovel” to republicans for the right to walk the streets of Ulster.

Orange Reformation are holding an Information Evening in Limavady Leisure Centre on Wednesday 3rd March 2010 at 8pm and invite Orangemen from the Co Londonderry area to go along.
