Proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to the Northern Ireland Chest, Heart and Stroke Association.

The vintage vehicles will assemble at the church car park at noon. Departing at 1pm, the tractor cavalcade will drive around country roads and lanes, stopping off at a local farm to view a large selection of vintage tractors and farm implements.

The vintage and classic cars will meet at the assembly point at 12.30pm. Cars will depart at 1.30pm, embarking on a scenic route around the Parkgate, Lylehill and Templepatrick area.

The entry fee is £10 per vehicle, which includes lunch for the driver.

Robert Wallace said: ”Everyone is welcome, and entries will be accepted on the day. The event is now in its sixth year, and we are looking forward to another successful and enjoyable day.

The vintage road run will coincide with a summer fete which is taking place in the church grounds from noon. There will be various stalls selling home produce, crafts, plants and refreshments.

“The summer fete has been organised in aid of church funds, and boasts a variety of entertainment for all the family, including Irish Dancing, live music, and a flying model aircraft display.

”We are also hosting a pet show at 2.00pm, and are urging the younger visitors to bring their pets along. Entry is free and there are a host of prizes to be won.

“On behalf of the organisers I would like to thank the sponsors, Erwin Agri-Care Ltd and GNG Credit Ltd for supporting the vintage tractor road run. Thanks also to the Eye Care Clinic based in Templepatrick, for its continued sponsorship of the classic car section.”
