Our Frank’s 100 years young...!

BALLYMONEY has a new centenarian! Frank Holmes celebrated his 100th birthday milestone last Sunday.

Born on April 17, 1911 in the townland of Ballaghmore near Ballymoney, Frank is the seventh son of John and Alice Holmes.

He married Jean Archibald, daughter of the late Alex and Annie Archibald, Drumart, and has lived in Druckendult for almost all of his married life.

Sadly his wife, Jean, passed away almost 25 years ago, they had three daughters, Iris, Doreen and Carol, four grandchildren and four great-grand children.

He spent most of his working life employed as a fitter by the Nestle Food Company in Ballymoney, until the factory closed down. And then finished his working days in Sherwoods.

He was musically talented and his earlier years was a member of the Gary Flute Band and he was a founder member of the Greenhill Pipe Band.

Last Sunday family members and friends gathered at the Tullyglass Hotel, Ballymena to mark the special occasion.

Both the Mayor, Cllr. Bill Kennedy and North Antrim MP., Ian Paisley, have offered their congratulations.
