Outgoing mayor looks back on ‘a memorable year’
In this week’s Newtownabbey Times, outgoing mayor Alderman Fraser Agnew recalls with fondness his ‘memorable’ year as the borough’s first citizen.
Speaking at the council’s AGM on June 2, Alderman Agnew thanked his fellow councillors and council staff for their support during his year in office.
Alderman Agnew said that the highlights of his year in office included the Royal Irish Regiment Band’s performance at his inaugural dinner, and the opening of the replica First World War trench and educational resource at Mossley Mill.
