Outreach Group at the Jethro Centre
The Rev Dr Johnston McMaster was due to speak at the latest meeting of the Lurgan Community Outreach Group at the Jethro Centre last night (Wednesday).
He was speaking on ‘The Role and the Death of Religion in the Great War’, a topic which should prove to be of great interest.
An outline of the selfless service given by men of faith both to the troops and to the bereaved at home was to be followed by an investigation into the extent to which the outcome of this horrendous conflict has contributed to the steady decline of religion in subsequent generations.
