Outreach Group run trip to Meath talks

The Community Outreach Group members have been invited by the Meath Peace Group to attend an event marking the Decade of Centenaries,

It will take place at St Columban’s College, Dalgan Park, Navan Co, Meath, on Saturday, September 26.

Due to a reduction in funding currently experienced by COG, it no longer has the funds to hire transportation.

Those who wish to travel are asked to car pool and share fuel costs. The event runs from 9:30am–4:30pm.

The lectures include: “Ireland and World War One” Ireland and the Great War – Prof. Keith Jeffrey; WW1 – Irish-Australian Perspectives – Dr. Danny Cusack; Dublin Castle and Irish Sedition, 1915-16 – Prof Eunan O’Hallpin; Commemorating 1916 in 2016 – Dr. Fearghal McGarry; “Meath and the Great War of 1914-18”; Navan and WW1 – Ethan Cantwell; From Bellewstown to the Battlefields of WW1 – Fiona Ahern; “Meath: 1916 Rising and Aftermath” Meath and 1916 – Noel French; 1916 and the Rise of Republicanism in Meath, 1917-21 – Ultan Courtney; “History, Commemoration and 1916” – panel discussion.
