Outstanding achievements at St. Patrick’s College

In total, 95 A or A* grades have been achieved by the College’s Sixth Form students; over 40% of the total grades obtained.

Celebrating the achievement of three A or A* grades at A2 Level are Aaron Keenan, Colette Laverty, Hannah Mulvenna, Dylan Stephens and Lauren Watkinson, while a further seven students have achieved two of their ‘A’ Level qualifications at those grades.

Principal, Mrs Cate Magee, congratulated all of her ‘A’ Level students on their ‘outstanding level of achievement’.

She said: “I am delighted to see so many of our students achieving at this top level and it is testament to the effort that they and their teachers have put into their ‘A’ Level work over the past two years.

“Twelve of our students have achieved at least two A grades out of their three ‘A’ Levels and I am delighted that we have a 100% pass rate across all of our courses to celebrate.

“We are very pleased with the number of our students who have achieved three of their ‘A’ Levels at A*-C, and I am delighted to say that our students have achieved excellent results in their AS and A2 courses.’

“A number of our Sixth Form students came to us from other schools when they had completed their GCSE courses, and their success at ‘A’ Level shows how well they settle into life here at St Patrick’s.”

Mrs Magee also drew attention to the continuing success of ‘A’ Level Polish, recently introduced in the College. She said: “Alongside their other studies, five students elected to complete both AS and A2 Polish in one year, and all passed both parts of the course”.

Congratulations also to St Patrick’s Art & Design Department, which has enjoyed enormous success for another year, with all grades at A2 Level being at A&* or A, and students at AS Level where 39% of all grades achieved were at A grade.

She also congratulated the College’s Year 13 Transition Course students, who all achieved success in their courses, including Home Cooking Skills, Personal Finance and the European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL).

And she paid tribute to her staff for the support, guidance and advice given to young people during their ‘A’ Level studies and parents for their “unfailing support”.
