Outstanding GCSE results at Antrim Grammar

Antrim Grammar School is celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results with over 98 per cent of pupils achieving five or more GCSEs at A* to C (including English and Maths).

Principal Hilary Woods congratulated the Year 12 pupils on their GCSE results, which show a significant improvement on last year’s results.

Ninety-five per cent of pupils achieved seven or more GCSEs at A*-C (including English and Mathematics).

The Senior Leadership Team was particularly pleased with the 100% pass rate in both English and Mathematics.

Over a quarter of the year group achieved an impressive seven or more A*/A grades.

Mrs Woods said: “We believe that a number of factors have contributed to GCSE success of which the hard work of the pupils themselves, the support of their parents and the skill and dedication of our staff are the most significant.

“In addition, the school’s Learning Support Mentor Mrs Irene McMahon has worked closely with a group of Year 12 pupils to help develop appropriate study skills and this support has proved invaluable.

“The school would like to acknowledge the achievement of many of our pupils who have met or exceeded their personal targets at GCSE.

“Each pupil has attained a set of strong results, showing that Antrim Grammar School continues to prepare its pupils for the challenges of ‘A’ Level and beyond.
