Outstanding results for Dalriada

MR. Tom Skelton, Headmaster, expressed delight at this year's outstanding set of results gained by Upper Sixth Form students at Dalriada.

27 students achieved at least one of the newly introduced A* grades at A level. 14 students achieved two or more A* grades and four students, Sarah Laverty, Michael Marshall, Rebecca Lapsley and Jenny Williamson achieved an outstanding three A* grades each. 29 students achieved three or more A grades.

77% of the Upper Sixth Form obtained at least three A-C grades. Over 45% of all A level grades at Dalriada were A* or A grades, further enhancing the school's reputation as one of the outstanding grammar schools in the Province.

In Lower Sixth Form, the results were even more impressive. A total of 33 students achieved at least 3 A grades each; and of these, 17 students achieved 4 A grades each.

An impressive figure of 82% of the Lower Sixth Form obtained at least 3 A-C grades.

Reflecting on the academic achievements, Mr. Skelton said "I am delighted and immensely proud of our pupils' outstanding examination results. In addition these young people have made an outstanding contribution to the cultural and sporting life of the school reflecting the unique ethos which continues to exist here in Dalriada. Our leavers have developed into fine young citizens and I wish them every success in the future".
