Outstanding Service recognised at AGM

AT THE AGM of the Ballymena Festival held recently, gifts were presented to three long-serving members in recognition of their outstanding work on behalf of the Festival.

Members expressed their gratitude to Miss Lily Crabbe: she has served twenty-five years as an executive member, many of them as Cup Secretary.

Jack and Kathleen Regan’s contribution was also recognised.

Between them they had given sixty-five years’ devoted service to the Festival. Jack has been a member of the executive for twenty-two years, during which time he served as the secretary for Instrumental and Traditional Music, and in recent years as Vice-Chair.

Kathleen Regan has been involved with the Festival in many capacities for over forty years. She has served as Vocal and Instrumental secretary, and in recent years has been the Child Protection Officer.

She has also been the Committee member responsible for recruiting a band of hostesses who provide accommodation and food for the many adult singers from Dublin who have always been such an important part of the Festival.

In their selfless dedication, it was pointed out, all three had made major contributions to the success of the Festival as one of the most important events of its kind in the Provence.
