Outstanding success for Loreto pupils

LORETO College Coleraine, Specialist School, is celebrating outstanding results in GCSE examinations.

Principal, Brian Lenehan, paid tribute to the Year 12 students and to their teachers for their hard work and determination in gaining excellent results across a full range of subjects.

Mr Lenehan said: “117 sat the GCSE examinations in the summer term.

“91% of these pupils achieved seven A*-C grades including Mathematics and English. 47% of all grades gained were A or A*, and 19% of all grades were A*. 18 students gained 9 A grades or better.”

The pupils who gained nine A grades or better were, Caoimhe Bond, Anna Breslin, Michael Cheuk, Natalie Costello, Eoin Cunning, Angus Dinsmore, Katherine Giddins, Hannah Janes, Emma Kelly, Mary Kate Mackle, Daniel McAleese, James McCullagh, Aodan McIlvenney, Megan McLaughlin, Maria Mooney, Joshua Quigley, Conor Reid and Bronagh Ward.

Mr Lenehan congratulated these students and all those who took their GCSE examinations and wished them well in the next phase of their studies.
