Over 600 lots going on sale at McAfee Auctions sale in Ballycastle

The contents of several properties, ‘there is really is something for everyone’ explains Gerry McAfee ‘there are lots of good dining room suites, bedroom and living room furniture, along with many smaller pieces of occasional furniture.’

 Collectibles are always to the fore and this sale is no exception with a very good pieces of Royal dux, a collection of Belleek, Doulton figurines, crystal, copper, brass, beswick, silver plate, tea and dinner sets, prints etc.

 A good number of clocks including a longcase clock with brass dial by local Coleraine maker John Davis, are among other longcase clocks, wall clocks and mantle clocks, which also includes two gilted metal ones, one under a glass dome.

 In furniture there are a number of table and chair sets, chest of drawers, display cabinets, walnut fall front bureau.

Also three piece suites, hall tables, side and occasional tables, good selection of bedroom furniture, armchair, occasional and bedroom chairs.

Alsocabinets, towel rails, hall chairs, a roll top desk for restoration etc.

 Slightly more unusual items in the sale is a tall four fold screen, a barograph, watercolour of Dunserverick Harbour by Richard Faulkner.

A selection of army uniforms, revolving bookcase, barometers, dress sword, tall Moorcroft vase, collection of commemorative coins, music stools, carved and bronze figurines etc.

 Viewing for the sale commences on Wednesday, May 15 and continues on Thursday 16th May 3-5pm and 7.00 – 8.30pm.

On the day of sale from 4pm, with the auction commencing on Friday 17th at 6.30pm.

 McAfee Auctions next sale is a two night sale of fine furnishings, principally the contents of two properties on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of May at 7pm nightly.  Catalogues of same will shortly be online.
