The pair are currently at Craigycor Kennels in Moira, which homes stray dogs from the Armagh Banbridge and Craigavon Council area.

According to police, the smaller dog is microchipped but not registered, meaning that the owner’s details are not recorded.

The bigger dog is not microchipped.

Staff at the kennels estimate that the smaller terrier-type dog is around one year old and the other one-and-a-half to two years old.

The smaller dog is in good condition but the other’s coat is quite matted.

The kennels said they don’t put any dogs down “We keep them for as long as we can and if they still haven’t been rehomed we work with charities to make sure they have somewhere to go,” said a member of staff.
