Oxfam shop launches new campaign

Oxfam Ireland has launched a new campaign, Drop and Shop, calling on people to donate to their local Oxfam Lisburn shop and get 15% discount on selected items in-store.

Oxfam Lisburn shop manager, June Hewitt, said: “It only takes a minute to bag up unwanted items and drop them to Oxfam, but it makes a lifetime of difference to people living in poverty around the world.

“Drop and Shop is a simple two-step process where people in Lisburn bag up their unwanted items and drop them to their local Oxfam in Market Street. Upon dropping, they will be offered 15% discount on selected items when they shop in-store during the same visit.

“And by sharing their experience on social media with the hashtag #dropandshop and tagging Oxfam Ireland, they will be in with a chance to win a Born Again refurbished iPad 2.”

The campaign is being supported by Northern Ireland’s top fashion stylist Sara O’Neill, who is helping to highlight the charity’s 50 shops across Ireland.

June Hewitt added: “Oxfam wants the things you don’t and has the things you do, so donating to or shopping in your local Oxfam Ireland shop is a great way to support our work worldwide.

“The vital funds raised through our shops make a big impact, helping our emergency responses in places like Nepal, long-term development projects that help people lift themselves out of poverty, and campaigning that gives a voice to the vulnerable.

“While you’re donating, please Gift Aid your bag ‘drop’ to make your donation go 25% further – there’s no cost to you and no tax implication.

“This will help Drop and Shop to transform even more lives.

“I also want to thank people throughout the Lisburn area for their continued support and Drop and Shop helps us to do that with discounts on selected items.”

The Oxfam Lisburn shop is located in 10 Market Street, Lisburn. For more information on Drop and Shop, visit www.oxfamireland.org/dropandshop
