Danielle Campbell (20), Garland Avenue, Lurgan, is charged with unlawful possession of cannabis resin on March 13 last year and allowing herself to be carried in a car she knew had been taken without the consent of the owner.

Barry Rainey (25), Clanrolla Park, Craigavon, is charged with dangerous driving at Brownlow Road on March 13 last year and taking a car without the consent of the owner.

Both appeared last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court. Rainey was in custody and appeared in the dock.

The cases against the defendants were listed as contests but both changed their pleas to guilty last Wednesday.

A solicitor for the defendants said Rainey was not unknown to the courts while Campbell had no previous convictions. District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said Rainey was in the more difficult position than Campbell because of his record. He adjourned the matter until October 24 for pre sentence reports.
