PAKT programme planned for new Sunnylands term

THE Sunnylands Youth centre-based PAKT group will open on Monday for another season of fun, games and learning for young people and their families.

Running Monday to Thursday every week, PAKT will be offering a range of courses, programmes and social activities. A crèche will be provided each morning from 9.30am to 12.30 to allow parents and carers to take part in the activities provided.

PAKT will offer essential skills maths, GCSE English, IT classes, food and nutrition and a number of self-development programmes as well as community events and activities. There will also be an after-schools club Monday to Thursday between 3.00pm and 5.00 pm for children aged 5-11. The first half hour is homework club and after that a range of activities including football, arts and crafts and gardening projects.

Last year parents who took part in PAKT achieved 51 passes in subjects ranging from emergency first aid to five parents who gained their European Computer Driving Licence .
