'˜Paperboy' author delights U3A group

Writer and Broadcaster Tony Macaulay delighted the Ballymoney U3A February monthly meeting with his amusing memories of his youth on the upper Shankhill, notably of his time as a Belfast Telegraph paperboy from 12 years old.

He read excerpts from his three entertaining books, the first of which is called Paperboy.

The second book is called Breadboy and the third, All Growed Up, covers his time at university in Coleraine.

His broadcasting on Radio Ulster has covered tales of local towns, folk and happenings.

Tony also worked for 25 years on Peace and Reconciliation in Northern Ireland.

Ballymoney U3A continues to grow with an enrolment now of 138 members.

It is necessary to be a member and retired or semi-retired to join the many activity groups which include something for everyone, such as Photography, Golf, Gardening and Computers.
