Parade to mark WW1 centenary in Coleraine

To commemorate a century this month since the outbreak of the Great War, a special parade and drumhead service will be held in Coleraine on Wednesday 20 August.

Brethren, sisters, and guests will assemble at Screen Road in the Killowen area of the town from 7pm where the parade will commence at 7.30pm headed by the County Londonderry Grand Orange Lodge Bannerette, followed by County, Grand Lodge officers, the brethren from all eleven District Loyal Orange Lodges and Brethren and Sisters from other visiting Counties and Districts.

The procession will then make its way through the streets of Coleraine to the Diamond and to the Cenotaph adjacent to the Town Hall where a Drumhead Service and Act of Remembrance will commence approximately at 8.30pm led by the Rev Bro Joseph Andrews, County Londonderry Grand Chaplain.

At the conclusion of the service the parade will reform and continue the remainder of the parade route and return to the assembly point at Screen Road in Killowen.
