Parents celebrate their new arrivals

The group of young parents gathered together to celebrate the birth of their babies.

All had taken part in a programme of support delivered by a range of partners working together.

Denise Bennett, Teenage Pregnancy Midwife explained more about the partnership,

“This unique partnership includes the Northern Trust, the Public Health Agency, Coleraine, Gold and Dalriada Sure Starts and allows young mothers, their partners and also their parents to get all the support they need during pregnancy and in the early days of parenting.

This support includes group and one-to-one sessions as well as telephone and text contact and home visits. The parents can choose which support they wish.

Nine mums, two dads and two proud grannies attended the reunion and they all had a chance to chat together, have a lovely portrait taken of their family and a piece of celebration cake.”
