‘Park investment is great opportunity for Glengormley’

UUP Councillor Mark Cosgrove has welcomed plans for a £600,000 upgrade at Lilian Bland Community Park in Glengormley.

The Times revealed last week how the council has earmarked the funding to improve the pavilion and children’s play area at the Carnmoney Road site.

“As someone who has long supported and worked for the enhancement of the facilities at Lilian Bland Park I warmly welcome the inclusion of these schemes in our wider capital estimates programme,” Cllr Cosgrove said.

“There are still a great many details to work through and this must be done through engagement and consultation with as wide a community stakeholder base as is possible. The centre of our town is for all our citizens and this further development of facilities in Glengormley creates more opportunities to ensure that this space belongs to all residents and groups who need it regardless of any other factors,” he added.
