Parking chaos at the hospital this morning

The woman reported cars parked on double yellow lines.

She said, “It was absolute chaos. If a car was coming down the opposite way from you there was nowhere to pull in and you would have to reverse right the way back up the road again.

“The cars are parked as soon as you come up the hill towards the hospital and as you turn right into the first car park.

“It’s a problem for pedestrians too. If you are using a walking aid there’s not much room, your wheels could be in the soil. It’s an absolute nightmare.”

Parking shortages have long been an issue at the hospital but the Southern Trust has created extra parking spaces in recent years.
