Chief Inspector Mark McClarence said: “The theft took place in the Mall area after the metal casing of the machine was drilled into. Coins were then taken from inside.

“The theft happened sometime between 6pm on Monday 16 November and the morning of Wednesday 18 November.

“The process of drilling through the box to access the money inside would have be noisy, so we are keen to speak with who noticed the drilling or associated noise and could possibly help our investigation.”

“Please call police in Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101 if you can assist officers. Or, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
