“We are closer than ever to finding a cure for Parkinson’s and I hope that people from across Ballymena with an interest in finding a cure for Parkinson’s will come along to find out more about just how long it will take for some of our findings to make it from the lab into the lives of those affected by the condition.”

Jimmy McClean, Chairman of the Ballymena Branch of Parkinson’s UK, said: “Every hour someone in the UK is told they have Parkinson’s, but at the moment there is no cure which is why research is so important.

“We are delighted to be able to host this special event and I am looking forward to hearing about some of the latest developments in Parkinson’s research.”

The Ballymena and District Branch of Parkinson’s UK offers information, friendship and support to local people with Parkinson’s, their families and carers.
