Partially exploded bomb discovered in Garvagh

Police say an object was found in the area at around 1.50pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Army bomb experts were tasked to the scene, and the object was declared as a partially exploded pipe bomb.

“The object has been taken away for further forensic examinations.

“At this stage, police believe the object may have been left near a house in the area. Enquiries are continuing,” said a PSNI spokesperson.
