Party gets 'out of hand'

A MAN was thought to have been stabbed after a party in a Pinebank house got 'out of hand'.

Two people required hospital treatment and another two were left injured during the attack in the early hours of Monday morning.

Around 1am police received a report of a disturbance involving a number of people in the Craigavon estate.

Two men in their 40s had received head and facial injuries which police said were serious but not life threatening, two women aged in their 30s and 40s were also injured but did not require hospital treatment.

It's thought a knife or bottles may have been used, however, police said they were still investigating the circumstances around the assaults.

Two men aged in their 20s and a man aged in his 40s were arrested and are continuing to assist police with their enquiries.

Local sources have said there was a party in one of the houses which erupted into trouble in the street and drugs may have been involved.

"There was a party and things got out of hand - I wouldn't be surprised if drugs were involved," said our source.

Residents in the area said one of the victims may have been stabbed in the attack, although police said this was unconfirmed.

Pinebank Residents Association said: "The local community is appalled at this incident and totally condemn it. We would urge anyone who has information to pass it on to the local police."
