PARTY IN THE PARK

AN open invitation has been issued to a very special birthday party in the park on Saturday evening.

Lurgan Park is the venue for the town's 400th birthday celebrations.

It's set to be one of the most special nights in the town's history as a host of stars come together for 'Lurgan 400 Live'.

Master of the Musicals, Peter Corry will be performing hits from the movies, along with other acts Eurovision winner Niamh Kavanagh and the John Anderson Big Band. The event will be opened by Lurgan's own Conleth Kane.

Hosted by Eamonn Holmes and his wife Ruth Langsford the outdoor music event is the first of it's kind for the park.

Organisers have asked guests to bring along a picnic rug or deck chairs and something warm to wear to enjoy the evening's festivities.

An eclectic mix of foods from around the world will also offer family and friends the opportunity to gather in the spectacular surroundings of Lurgan Park to enjoy an ‘alfresco’ picnic and a truly unique evening of music.

The event is totally alcohol free and gates open at 5pm with the show starting at 7.30pm.

The magical night will be brought to a close with a fireworks finale at 10.30pm.

Translink is running a shuttle service from the train station to the park every half hour from 5pm with the final return at 11.15pm.
