Party leader praise for Sean Neeson

Alliance leader David Ford has paid tribute to former East Antrim MLA Sean Neeson who is stepping down from local politics.

Mr Ford described the Carrick councillor as “one of the most positive voices for peace, particularly during the darkest days of the Troubles.”

Mr Neeson - a former teacher in St Comgall’s High School - was first elected to Carrick council in 1977, where he served as mayor from 1993-94. He also is a former leader of the Alliance party.
