Passengers suffer cramped train
Translink has apologised after only three carriages were available at peak morning rush hour from Lurgan to Belfast.
According to one passenger by the time the train left Lurgan there wasn’t even standing room.
A Translink spokesperson said: “A number of services on the Portadown line were operated by three carriage trains, February 10, due to lack of availability of additional sets. Based on average passenger loadings for the 07:40 Portadown-Belfast service, there were around 250 passengers on board by the time it reached Moira. Where a train is heavily loaded we may be unable to allow additional passengers to board. We would apologise to passengers for any inconvenience caused by this. Six carriages operated as normal on the Portadown line on Tuesday.”
