Passing will be mostly felt by grandchildren

PROFOUND sadness spread throughout the district when it was learned of the passing of Mrs Eileen Clarke, 37 Mount Charles, Banbridge which occurred at Craigavon Area Hospital on Saturday February 13.

Eileen was the dearly loved wife of Thomas Clarke and devoted mother of Billy and Gerald.

Eileen, who was brought up in Newry Street went to work in Down Shoes where she won the respect and fellowship of her fellow workers in the Factory.

There she met her husband Tommy and they were married on Easter Monday 54 years ago. Eileen was the last surviving family member of Paddy and Isobel Walsh.

Eileen was a very outgoing person and enjoyed being among people.

Her great love was for her family and grandchildren and it is there that her passing will be mostly felt.

She is survived by her husband, two sons Billy and Gerald, her daughters-in-law Bridget and Janet, three grandchildren Darren, Mandy, Janine, Bradley and Jay.

To these and all other relatives sincere sympathy has been extended.

Her remains were taken to St Patrick’s Church, Dromore Street on the Sunday evening when Father Tony Corr officiated and then during the course of the Requiem Mass paid a fitting tribute to Eileen’s life and the treatment which Eileen received in Craigavon Area Hospital.

The interment took place in St Patrick’s Cemetery.

Family flowers were placed on the grave.

William Bell and Co had charge of the funeral arrangements.
