Pastor and Mrs Taylor celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

BALLYMONEY Church of God was filled to capacity as hundreds of people came to celebrate with Pastor and Mrs. Taylor on their 'SURPRISE' Celebration night.

Many visitors came with friends and people commented on the wonderful atmosphere of joy and celebration from all age groups. The Congregation sang, worshipped and were touched as Pastor Jonathan Payne read out emails from friends and colleagues who couldn't be there.

The Sanctuary Choir presented a beautifully engraved crystal decanter; Mr. John Camac gave Mrs. Taylor a bouquet of flowers and finally Mr. James McCook (Church Elder) presented Pastor Taylor with a cheque for 5,740.

This magnificent sum of money was raised by the Church of God Congregation over the weeks leading up to the evening. This money in turn was donated towards the development of the new 2 acre site adjoining the Church something very dear to Pastor and Mrs. Taylor's hearts.

The service finished on a great crescendo of praise and thanksgiving led by Pastor Yvonne Payne. Everyone then gathered in the Youth Hall where the Church of God Catering Team pulled out all the stops to create a wonderful sumptuous supper.

Pastor and Mrs. Taylor were overwhelmed by the love and generosity of the Congregation. At the end of the evening celebrations, they both commented on how special their Golden Wedding Anniversary had been in God's House.
