Pat on the back for dance organisers

ALMOST £8000 has been raised by a group of people who ran a dance recently in Carey, Ballycastle following the earthquake in Haiti.

The magnificent effort has earned the organisers much praise in the community for their hard work and determination to bring some relief to those affected by the tragedy.

Those organisers have now thanked everyone who helped with the success of the event.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to thank the local businesses who donated prizes for the raffle and sponsorship and those who sponsored posters and tickets as well as those for their overall donations to the appeal.

“The generosity of the people in the area has been fantastic with 7977 collected up to the 1st of March. An enjoyable night was had by all and the money raised will go to great use in Haiti.”
