Paul Gerard Curran murder probe police granted extra 36 hours to question three people

Detectives investigating the suspected murder of Lurgan father-of-two, Paul Gerard Curran, have been granted an extra day-and-a-half to question three people who remain in police custody this afternoon.

A police spokesperson confirmed on Saturday that detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch, conducting a murder investigation following the death of the 29-year-old at a house in Manor Drive in the town on Thursday, have been granted an additional 36 hours by a court to question two men and a woman, all aged in their 30s.

Mr. Curran’s body was discovered in the Taghnevan area on Thursday afternoon.

Police have appealed for information in relation to Mr. Curran’s death.

“I continue to appeal to anyone with any information which could assist us with our enquiries to contact detectives in Lurgan on 101 quoting reference number 639 09/03/17. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111,” said Detective Chief Inspector Eamonn Corrigan.
