Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council’s Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) held it the first of it Neighbourhood Watch coordinator update meetings across the borough this week.

Meetings were carried out to give Neighbourhood Watch coordinators throughout the borough, an update on information and to promote Neighbourhood Watch schemes.

The coordinators act as a link between the community and local police. Their main role is to act as first point of contact for all members of the scheme and to receive and distribute information.

Causeway Coast and Glens PCSP Chair, Councillor James McCorkell has welcomed the development and support provided to Neighbourhood Watch schemes across the borough. He said: “Neighbourhood Watch schemes bring great value to the local area and it is the PCSPs aim to encourage and support the further growth of such schemes. This is a very effective way of making a real difference aiming to reduce the levels of crime, and the fear of crime within local communities”.
