Penalty points for insurance offence

Six penalty points were imposed on a Lurgan man last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on January 24 this year.

James Skillen (67), Mourne Road, Lurgan, was also fined £200.

As well he was fined £75 for not having a vehicle test certificate.

He was stopped while driving in High Street, Lurgan. A check on his insurance revealed that it had run out two days previously on January 22.

His solicitor said that he was caught on the Friday and renewed his insurance on the following Monday.
