Pensioner injured

A WATERSIDE pensioner suffered bruising to her face and shoulders last week between returning from the city centre in a taxi and awakening at her home on April 29. Police are appealing for information.

The PSNI are trying to establish how a woman in her 70s came to be injured returning home from the city centre on April 29.

The lady, who is hearing impaired, attended a class in the afternoon and then got into a taxi at Foyle Street around 4pm to return home to Top of the Hill.

She remembers nothing more until she woke up in her bed at 8pm with bruising to her face and shoulders. Police are keen to speak to anyone who remembers seeing a woman wearing a short sleeved orange top and black trousers in the city centre or Gobnascale area last Friday. The telephone number to ring is 0845 600 8000.
